Discover a remarkable expression of Irish whiskey craftsmanship. Midleton Very Rare Irish Chestnut Edition is the first release in the Rare Wood Collection, bringing a distinctive Irish sweet chestnut finish to expertly aged Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.
Initially matured in American oak bourbon barrels for 12–19 years, the selected whiskeys spent a further five years in bespoke chestnut casks made from trees sourced at the historic Cappoquin Estate in County Waterford. The result is a richly textured whiskey that combines indulgent sweetness with warming spice, earthy wood notes and an elegant nutty character.
Bottled at natural cask strength and non-chill filtered, this exceptional release makes a thoughtful gift for a whiskey enthusiast or a distinctive addition to a treasured collection.
Tasting Notes

Nose: Honeyed apple, caramelised orange, chocolate and toffee, layered with cinnamon, nutmeg and nutty warmth.
