The Story
Red Spot 19-Year-Old 58.5%
One of only 603 bottles from a single Marsala butt of American white oak, crafted by Antonio Paez in Jerez and seasoned with Marsala Superiore. Recasked in December 2008, emptied in March 2024, and bottled at cask strength.
Tasting Notes
What to expect in the glass
Nose
Rich, warming stewed fruits with cinnamon and nutmeg; earthy, herbal aromas with tobacco leaf; pot still spices meet Marsala-seasoned oak in notes of liquorice and cracked walnut.
Palate
Fruits to the fore — fresh apricot and cooked apple with garden mint; sweet crème brûlée and honeycomb balance delicate oak tannins and robust pot still spices.
Finish
Lasting — the wine seasoning and pot still spices linger while the oak gently fades first.
