Corporate Christmas gifts in Ireland: a simple guide
Share
Giving a bottle at Christmas is a simple, well-loved way to thank clients, suppliers and your own team. It can also become a job that eats up a December afternoon. This guide walks through how to plan corporate Christmas gifts in Ireland without the fuss, and how we can help.
1. Decide who's on the list
Start with a simple list: clients, partners, suppliers and staff. For each group, think about what you'd like the gift to say. A thank-you to a long-standing client might call for something special. A gift for the whole team might be better as one good, familiar bottle for everyone.
It's worth checking two things early:
- Your own company's gifting policy, and whether any clients have rules about the gifts their staff can accept. Some public bodies and larger firms do.
- That everyone receiving alcohol is an adult. Alcohol gifts are for people aged 18 or over only. If someone on the list doesn't drink, a non-alcoholic gift is the kinder choice.
2. Set a budget per person
It's easier to choose gifts once you have a rough budget per person for each group. You don't need to have it exact. If you give us a budget and the number of people, we'll suggest a list of bottles that fit, so you're not working through the whole shop yourself.
3. Choose bottles people will enjoy
Irish whiskey is a popular choice for corporate gifts here because it feels local, it keeps well and most whiskey fans are glad to receive it. A few bottles that companies often choose:
- Redbreast 12 Year Old Single Pot Still, a classic Irish single pot still and a safe, well-liked choice for a larger group.
- Jameson Single Pot Still, a familiar name with a twist, good for a mixed group.
- Dingle Fourth Single Pot Still Release, a small-batch release from Dingle Distillery in Kerry.
- Red Spot 15 Year Old Single Pot Still, from the Spot family of whiskeys.
- Redbreast 18 Year Old or Midleton Very Rare 2026 Vintage Release, for a senior client or a very special thank-you.
Not everyone drinks whiskey. For a mixed group, you could add a gin such as Chase Elegant 48 Gin or a Champagne such as G.H. Mumm Champagne. For smaller team gifts or event favours, 5cl sample drams work well, and a DrinksHero gift card lets people choose their own bottle.
You'll find more ideas in our Christmas Gift Guide 2026.
4. Sort out delivery
Decide whether the gifts are going to one address (your office, say, for handing out in person) or straight to each person. Both are fine. Just let us know which, and how many addresses there are, and we'll confirm the delivery arrangements in writing.
For Christmas delivery in Ireland, corporate orders need to be confirmed by Thursday 17 December, or Monday 21 December with express delivery. For gifts going to the UK, Europe or the US, our Christmas delivery dates article has the last order dates for each. Outside Ireland, delivery is calculated by destination and order size, and duties and import rules vary by country.
Whoever receives the parcel must be 18 or over, so it helps to send gifts to a work address where someone can sign for them.
5. Keep the paperwork simple
One of the easiest ways to save time is to deal with a single supplier. We give you one contact and one invoice for the whole order, however many bottles and addresses are involved.
How it works with DrinksHero
We're an Irish-owned online drinks shop based in Cork, and every bottle ships from our shelf. Here's how a corporate order works:
- Go to our corporate gifting page and use the form to tell us the occasion, your budget per person, the number of bottles and where they need to go.
- We'll come back with a proposal, usually the same working day.
- Once you're happy, we confirm the order and the delivery details in writing, and send one invoice.
If you'd rather talk it through, email us at hello@drinkshero.com.
A few final tips
- Keep a simple spreadsheet of names, addresses and gifts. It makes next year much easier.
- Add a short personal note where you can. People remember a few kind words more than the bottle.
- Remember that some people don't drink. Having a non-alcoholic option ready is always a good idea.
